Frequently Asked Questions

What is CONNECT?

CONNECT by Eager Labs, is an immersive, multi-session, remote cohort training program for people managers who lead teams, projects, or small organizations.

Participants will join a mixed cohort of leaders from various companies and organizations to learn, discuss, and reflect upon effective leadership and management practices.

How much does the program cost?

The CONNECT program costs $2,500 per person.

Do you offer discounts?

We offer a group rate of $2,250 per person for companies purchasing 5 or more entries.

Who is this program for?

CONNECT is not for everyone. The program is designed for newer leaders with active people management responsibilities looking to learn new skills and collaborate with other managers.

The program is not for high potential employees, not yet managing people, but hoping to learn management skills in anticipation of a future management role.

Our programs are limited and fill up extremely fast. Apply now for a chance to participate.

How are applicants chosen?

This program is designed for people who are new (or newer) to managing and leading teams, projects, or small organizations. We select applicants based on work experience, developmental needs, and alignment with the cohort.

Cohorts will be made up of participants from a range of backgrounds, functions, and businesses with the intention of creating space for diverse ideas and opinions. Sessions will be highly interactive, and include a mix of discussion, activities, and individual and small group reflection.

How much time will I have to commit?

At minimum, CONNECT will require 16 hours of active live session time spread over several months. Assuming you plan to put what you’re learning into practice and engage with your peer advisory group, additional time will be required.

This investment, learning new skills that will pay dividends for everyone on your team, takes time. If you don’t think you’ll be able to commit to that, CONNECT is not right for you.

Why is the schedule broken into several shorter sessions with time in between?

We are firm believers in the 70:20:10 learning model and know the value in putting what you are learning into practice with a supportive peer group behind you.

So the CONNECT program consists of concentrated sessions, each focused on a particular management topic, provides you guidance on how to practice those skills, and then gives you the time to do just that, with peer and expert support.

Wouldn’t an in-person program be better?

We understand concerns about online vs. in-person as many online training programs reduce to essentially 1-to-many webinars. But our facilitators have both run live programs and then successfully replicated them online (in fact most of the CONNECT content was developed originally for in-person workshops) and they were extremely thoughtful about how to replicate as much of the in-person experience as possible.

Participants will have small peer groups and we will help facilitate peer group rapport building at the onset of the program. During the core sessions, we’ll use Zoom’s breakout room feature to allow them to easily step away into smaller intimate groups (this is the same technique that InVision, an 800 person fully remote org, uses for their internal new manager training). We’ve also designed time for the peer groups to meet separately to provide support and feedback as they work through exercise and challenges.

There are other benefits to a thoughtfully designed remote program, including a more diverse cohort, more accommodation for participant needs, and thoughtful digitization of more core material. And of course, as work requires us all to be more effective as distributed workers, these tools and techniques will only help the next generation of managers thrive.

But we recognize this won’t be the right fit for everyone.

What do I receive as a participant?

In addition to eight live training sessions – and supporting content, resources, and exercises – you will be matched with a small peer group for support and collaboration as you practice and learn.

You will also receive a 360 behavioral assesment, a Real Colors personality type assessment, free access to Eager Labs talent management platform, plus a few additional surprises unique to our program.

Lastly, everyone who successfully completes the program will receive an invitation to a private community of alumni managers for ongoing support and discussion of management and leadership development.
